3 billion downloads of Apple’s AppStore

Apple reported today that it has exceeded 3 billion, the number of applications downloaded from the AppStore (shop programs for the iPhone and iPod Touch) in just 18 months of operation of that store. Moreover, in July 2009 exceeded 1.5 billion, the number of downloads, which means that doubled the score in just half a year. Apple, unfortunately, does not boast how many of these applications were sold to pay and which has an annual gains through the AppStore. Currently available are more than 100 000 applications, compared to Google’s Android has 16 000 applications, and Nokia’s Ovi shop store has only 5000 programs for their phones.
